Gov. Corbett Declares Disaster Emergency in Allegheny Co. After Floods

State departments and agencies have access to PEMA money to aid with disaster relief.

Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett on Wednesday declared a disaster emergency in Allegheny and other Pennsylvania counties as a result ofrecent severe weather and flooding.

According to a declaration issued July 24, $200,000 in unused, appropriated funds has been transferred to the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) to be used for disaster-related expenses incurred by state departments and agencies.

Additionally, PEMA will continue to staff the State Emergency Operations Center, adding to that staff with personnel from other state departments as needed, to continue responding to disaster emergency areas.
