Dormont to Hold Special Meeting on #1 Cochran Plan

Dormont Council will hold a special meeting tomorrow, Dec. 19, to discuss two items related to the proposed #1 Cochran redevelopment plan.

Dormont Council will hold a special public meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, Dec. 19, to discuss at least two items, both related to the proposed #1 Cochran redevelopment plan.

Council plans to discuss the proposed agreement with #1 Cochran, which would include a potential land swap between the company and the borough, as well as the points #1 Cochran would have to meet in order for the borough to approve an agreement.

Council also plans to discuss the creation of a committee to organize a tax increment financing (TIF) district, which was proposed as a way to pay for new parking lots and other construction around the #1 Cochran site. If created, the committee would include representatives from Allegheny County and from the Keystone Oaks School District.
