Council plans to accept Gabriel’s resignation at tonight’s meeting. McCartney said Gabriel’s resignation is in response to the borough’s need for a solicitor with greater expertise in regard to the borough’s comprehensive plan, as well as the parking issues in the borough.

He said Gabriel is leaving on good terms, and that the resignation is simply a matter of the borough’s need for a solicitor with knowledge of specific specialty areas of litigation.

“Deron’s going to graciously help serve us through the transition period until we find someone else and we’re quite happy about that,” he said. “It has more to do with the expertise we need going forward than with anything else.”
