Dormont Moves Forward with Rec Director, Clerk Hiring

Hundreds of applications for the two vacant positions have been received.

The search for a new recreation director and a new front desk clerk for is moving forward, and the positions could be filled by the end of the month.

Borough manager Jeff Naftal said Monday that he is in the process of interviewing six people for the position of Recreation Director and nine people for the position of borough clerk/receptionist. He said he expects the interview process to be done by next Wednesday, Aug. 15.

"I intend to make my selection as quick as I can, to get somebody on board," Naftal said.

Last week, Naftal said he received about 80 resumes for the Recreation Director position, and more than 200 for the position of clerk/receptionist.

Naftal also said that police union negotiations are going well, and that he thinks it would be possible to have an executive session to discuss police union matters by Aug. 15.

Naftal said he has met with all four unions in the borough, and expects the negotiation process to go smoothly.
