Dormont Hires Police and Desk Officers

Dormont Council on Monday approved several new hires to borough positions.

Dormont Borough Council on Monday made several new hires to positions within the borough.

Some employees will be working only through the summer, and others were hired as fulltime borough employees:

  • Adam Schmidt and Robert Barnes III were hired as Dormont Borough police officers, effective May 8, each at salaries of $52,350.99 per year.
  • Jeffrey Stakich was hired as Fire Apparatus Operator/Desk Officer, effective May 7, for a salary of $29,852.16 per year. Stakich currently is a captain for the Dormont Volunteer Fire Department.
  • Mitch Powers, Michael Barrett, John Kovacs, Kevin Barrett and Chris Hill were hired as summer laborers for the Parks Department at a rate of $10.50 per hour. Kovacs and Hill began work on April 1. Powers and M. Barrett will began work on May 6, and K. Barrett will begin work on May 20.
