Dormont Council Meeting Notes

Parking and hiring of borough manager on next week's meeting agenda.

Here’s a roundup of items that will likely be voted on at the March 5 meeting. The following items have not been approved by council, and the items on the March 5 meeting agenda are subject to change before that date.

Council plans to approve:

  • A payment of $13,623, payable from the sewer fund, to Niando Construction for consent order inspection and sewer repairs made in 2010.
  • A payment of $49,688 and a two-year, 50-percent maintenance bond to A. Merante Contracting for the 2011 Road Reconstruction Program.
  • A resolution to hire an interim borough manager.
  • Resolutions for SHACOG (South Hills Area Council of Government) appointing Ryan Kelley to the Cable TV Board, James Lamb to the Joint Rate Review Board, and another person to the Franchising Authority Board.
  • Lot consolidations for 2809-2825 West Liberty Ave. (VW site) and for 3200-3220 West Liberty Ave. (Nissan site), per the planning commission’s recommendation; also, a Rohrich parking lot conditional use for 2752 West Liberty Ave., per the planning commission’s recommendation.
  • A resolution concerning the recommendations from the Traffic and Parking Planning Commission for the Illinois Avenue Parking lot issue, which was .

The next Dormont Council meeting will be March 5 at 7 p.m. in the recreation center above Dormont pool.
