Weekend Crime Update

An arrest was made in Beechview and car mirrors were stolen in Brookline over the weekend.

Beechview

A Beechview man was arrested Jan. 11 and charged in connected with a break in at an Alton Street home in Beechview on New Year’s Day.

Timothy Jenkins, 21, was charged with burglary and theft, and was taken to Allegheny County Jail.

According to the report, the residents returned home on New Year's Day and saw Jenkins running away from the back of the house. Several items from inside the home were missing.

A number of people in Brookline woke up Saturday morning to discover that the side mirrors of their vehicles had been stolen.

According to the report, the mirrors were completely removed from the cars in some cases, while in other cases only the mirror glass was removed.

The incident happened sometime between Jan. 13 and Jan. 14 and affected vehicles throughout Brookline. Mirrors from both the driver and passenger sides of the vehicles were taken. The number of cars affected was not immediately known.
