Unlocked Car Stolen in Dormont

Dormont police blotter, May 4 to May 11.

A car stolen from a Dormont property might have been an easy target for the thief—it was unlocked, and the keys were inside, according to the police report.

The owner of the stolen 1991 red Dodge Spirit told the car was parked in the 2900 block of Philadelphia Avenue when it was stolen sometime on May 6.

Police have no information regarding a suspect, and no arrests have been made at this time.

May 5

  • A woman returned home shortly after 4 p.m. and found that the seat cushion of a piece of porch furniture had been cut and chewed gum was stuck to her porch railing. The incident occurred in the 1000 block of Biltmore Avenue.

May 6

  • A woman told officers she saw a raccoon enter her home in the 1000 block of Biltmore Avenue through a hole in the porch roof around 6 p.m. Animal control was called, but the raccoon has not been caught.

May 10

  • Police responded to a complaint of an intoxicated woman at at 2961 West Liberty Avenue at 1:10 a.m. According to the report, the woman damaged telephones and the mouse to the computer belonging to the business. Lisa Bianchi, 48, of Dormont, was arrested and charged with public drunkenness and criminal mischief. She was lodged at the Dormont police station until she was sober and was released the following morning.

The police also responded to a number of noise disturbances, medical assistance calls and parking complaints that did not result in arrests or charges.
