Two Arrested for Public Drunkenness in Dormont

Dormont police blotter, June 21 to June 28.

Dormont police responded to and issued citations in two public drunkenness incidents between June 22 and June 24:

  • Officers on patrol in the 1400 block of Potomac Avenue in June 22 at 12:46 a.m. saw a male staggering down the street and stopped to check on his safety. According to the police report, officers smelled a strong odor of alcohol and noticed the man was having trouble speaking and standing. Michael Hess, 35, of Dormont was taken to the police station and held until he was sober, and was issued a citation for public drunkenness.
  • Police responded to the rear of Sergio’s Salon at 3:43 p.m. on June 24 for a report of an unconscious man found on the sidewalk. According to the police report, a woman at the scene told police the man, identified as Joseph Liparulo, 23, of Bethel Park, has bought two bottles of vodka from a nearby liquor store and drank them quickly, and that the two had stopped in the alley for a cigarette when Liparulo passed out. Liparulo was taken to St. Clair Hospital and was later issued a citation for public drunkenness.

Also in the blotter:

  • Between 1 and 2 p.m. on June 24, two different residents in the 1300 block of Arkansas Avenue reported that someone had keyed the sides of their vehicles.
