Tools, Chainsaws Among Items Stolen from Brookline Cars

Several more thefts from vehicles were reported at the end of August.

An area trend of theft from vehicles continued in Brookline at the end of August, with a number of items reportedly stolen from cars and some incidents occurring during daylight hours.

Six separate incidents were reported in Brookline between Aug. 20 and Aug. 26.

The following thefts from vehicles were reported to Pittsburgh police:

  • Tires were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1700 block of West Liberty Avenue in Brookline between 5 p.m. on Aug. 20 and noon on Aug. 21.
  • A wallet containing money and identification was stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 2700 block of Queensboro Avenue in Brookline around 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 21.
  • Tools, a fishing bag, sunglasses and a wallet contained identification was stolen from a car parked in the 800 block of Bay Ridge Avenue in Brookline between 8 p.m. on Aug. 20 and 8:30 a.m. on Aug. 21.
  • A wallet containing money and identification was stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1200 block of Fortuna Avenue in Brookline between 10 p.m. on Aug. 20 and 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 21.
  • A victim told police that someone forced open a box and stole chain saws from a vehicle parked in the 2800 block of Kenilworth Street in Brookline. The incident occurred between 4 p.m. on Aug. 25 and 11 a.m. on Aug. 26.
  • A door and a catalytic converter were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1600 block of Saw Mill Run Boulevard in Brookline between 4:30 p.m. on Aug. 25 and 10 a.m. on Aug. 26.
