Three Arrested in Brookline Assault Case

More arrests are expected in a case of assault on Brookline Boulevard.

Three men were arrested and face multiple charges after an assault in Brookline sent the victims to the hospital.

On Nov. 5, male victims told police they were assaulted in the 500 block of Brookline Boulevard around 9 p.m. by a group of men who hit them with batons and clubs. According to the police report, the victims knew some, but not all, of the men who assaulted them.

The victims were taken to a hospital for treatment.

On Nov. 9, Pittsburgh police detectives identified and arrested two men in connection with the incident. Anthony Frost, 21, and Mark Iaquinta, 21, both of Brookline, were each charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, criminal conspiracy, and possessing instruments of crime.

A few days later, on Nov. 12, Marc Cataldo, 21, of Beechview, also was arrested and charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of recklessly endangering another person, criminal conspiracy and possessing instruments of crime.

All three men are currently in Allegheny County Jail. Preliminary hearings for each are schedule for Nov. 19.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional arrests are expected, according to the report.
