Three Arrested After Widespread Vandalism on Arkansas Ave.

Two teens and a 20-year-old face multiple charges after their alleged involvement in widespread vehicle vandalism on Arkansas Avenue, according to Dormont Police.

Officers responded to the 1300 block of Arkansas Avenue at 10:16 p.m. on May 25 for a report that a mirror was broken off of a vehicle. Police said when they arrived, they found that almost every vehicle in the block had the driver’s side mirror either turned out or broken.

A witness told police a teenage male broke the mirror, described the teen, and said he was seen walking toward Beggs-Snyder Park.

While checking the area for the suspect, police found three teens—identified as Nicholas Greco, 20, Sean McGinnis, 19, and Nicholas Nania, 19, all of Dormont—sitting on the porch of a home in the 1200 block of Arkansas Avenue with cans of Keystone Ice beer under their chairs.

According to the police report, Nania told a Dormont officer that he was responsible for damaging some of the mirrors.

All three were taken to the Dormont Police Station where, according to the police report, marijuana was found in a prescription bottle Greco was carrying.

Greco was issued non-traffic citations for underage drinking, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

Nania and McGinnis were held at the station until sober and released. They were charged via summons with criminal mischief, underage drinking, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.
