Theft, Arrests Reported in Local Communities

Crime updates from Pittsburgh Police Zone 6, Oct. 1 to Oct. 7.

Several incidents were reported in Brookline, Beechview and elsewhere in the Zone 6 area between Oct. 1 and Oct. 7. 

Burglary

  • A resident in the 700 block of Bay Ridge Avenue in Brookline told police someone tried to force open the garage door of the home on Oct. 7 at 5 a.m., but fled in a vehicle without taking anything when the resident turned on a light.

Theft

  • An unattended purse was stolen in the 2700 block of Queensboro Avenue in Brookline on Oct. 1 between 4:40 and 6:30 p.m.

Theft from Vehicle

  • Two tires were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 2400 block of Pioneer Avenue in Brookline between 10 a.m. on Oct. 2 and 8 a.m. on Oct. 3.
  • Two GPS units and two jackets were stolen from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 1600 block of Broadway Avenue in Beechview between 8:30 p.m. on Oct. 3 and 2 p.m. on Oct. 4.

  • Laura Woester of Pittsburgh was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia in the 1600 block of Broadway Avenue in Beechview on Oct. 6.
  • Duwayne Lewis Jr. of Beechview was arrested for possession with the intent to deliver heroin in the 1300 block of Beechview Avenue in Beechview on Oct. 4.
  • Christie Valeri of Beechview was arrested for possession of heroin in the 1500 block of Beechview Avenue in Beechview on Oct. 4.
  • Derek Pulscher of Beechview was arrested for disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and public drunkenness in the 1400 block of Rockland Avenue in Beechview on Oct. 5.
  • Deaunna Webb of Bridgeville was arrested for possession of heroin, and Benjamin Volle of Carnegie was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia in the 1100 block of Brookline Boulevard in Brookline on Oct. 3.
