Teen Arrested After Fight Breaks Out at Dormont Home

One teen allegedly injured a mother and her teenage son during the fight.

Two teenagers, one a juvenile, face underage drinking and other charges after an incident at a Hillsdale Avenue home on June 14.

According to the police report, an officer on patrol at 12:35 a.m. stopped a teen—identified as 18-year-old Tylor O’Connell of Dormont—after O’Connell looked at the officer and immediately began running away. The officer reported that O’Connell was bleeding from the lip.

The officer reported that O’Connell smelled like alcohol, and had glassy, bloodshot eyes. According to the report, O’Connell told police he was running away from a fight at a home in the 1600 block of Hillsdale Avenue.

While the officer was talking to O’Connell, police responded to an assault report at the same home. An underage teen at the home told police that while he was having friends over, O’Connell began beating up another teen. The teen told police he was cut when O'Connell threw him into a mirror.

According to the police report, O'Connell also threw a table into a window and shattered it, and injured the mother of the underage teen when she tried to break up the fight.

O’Connell was charged with simple assault, criminal mischief, underage drinking and disorderly conduct.

A juvenile teen from Brookline was charged with underage drinking.
