Six Thefts Reported May 5 in Banksville

Pittsburgh police are warning residents to keep cars locked and remove valuables from sight after several thefts in the area.

Following several theft-from-vehicle reports in the Banksville and Beechview neighborhoods, Pittsburgh police are warning residents to lock their cars, and to remove or hide valuable items from sight when cars are left unattended.

On May 2, a license place was reported stolen from a vehicle parked near Hampshire and Cape May avenues in Beechview.

The following thefts occurred overnight between May 4 and May 5 in Banksville:

  • Change and a USB cord were stolen from a car in the 2300 block of High Oak Drive.
  • A vehicle in the 2300 block of High Oak Drive was broken into, but it was unclear if anything had been taken.
  • Money was stolen from a car in the 2300 block of High Oak Drive.
  • A second vehicle in the 2300 block of High Oak Drive was broken into, but it was unclear if anything had been taken.
  • A vehicle in the 2300 block of Hayson Avenue was broken into, but it was unclear if anything was taken.
  • Wallets were stolen from two unlocked cars parked in the 2300 block of Hayson Avenue.

Those with information can contact Pittsburgh Police Zone 6 detectives.
