Red Cross Aids Dormont Families After Fire

A fire displaced three Dormont families Tuesday night.

An apartment building fire in the 2700 block of Miles Avenue in Dormont displaced three families Tuesday night.

Lauren Chapman, communications specialist for the American Red Cross Southwestern Pennsylvania Region said two adult individuals and one adult with two children received help from the Red Cross Tuesday night after the fire.

Two families are being housed by the Red Cross, Chapman said, and the third was able to find housing elsewhere.

Chapman said the Red Cross assisted the families with food, clothing and shelter after the fire, but she didn't know if any other funds or collections had been set up locally for them.
