Priest to Plead Guilty on Child Porn Charges

Former Castle Shannon priest Bartley Sorenson was indicted on child pornography charges in December.

Bartley Sorenson, a former Castle Shannon priest who was indicted on child pornography charges in December, is schedule to plead guilty to those charges Wednesday, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Sorenson was charged with possession of child pornography after thousands of expicit images of young boys were found on his computer.

He formerly worked at St. Anne Church in Castle Shannon, and was working at St. John Fisher Parish in Churchill at the time charges were filed.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh suspended Sorenson in January. He is scheduled to plead guilt to those charges at 2 p.m. today before U.S. District Judge Alan Bloch, according to the Post-Gazette's report.
