Police Offer Reward for Rite Aid Robbery Suspect

Pittsburgh Police are searching for a man who robbed the Banksville Road Rite Aid earlier this month.

A Rite Aid employee might have stopped a robbery, but Pittsburgh Police still are searching for the suspect—and they're offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Police responded to the Rite Aid on Banksville Road at 1:40 a.m. on Feb. 6 for a report of a robbery.

A store employee told police a white male entered Rite Aid just after 1:30 a.m., but left quickly without buying anything. He then went outside and got into a large, silver sedan, possibly a Grand Marquis or Crown Victoria, being driven by a black male.

When the employee went out and asked if they needed help, the black male reportedly said, "No we’re ok. You still open?" The employee said yes and went back into the store, according to police.

A few minutes later, the white male again entered the store and pointed a gun at the employee. According to the police report, the employee grabbed the gun away from the man and pointed it back at him.

The man grabbed the gun back and ran out of the store.

The suspect is described as a white male, 20-25 years old, 160lbs, with a medium build, scruffy facial hair, and a fair complexion. He was wearing a black and gray jacket with a gray collar and a blue hoodie.

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact the PBP Robbery Squad at 412-323-7151. Callers may remain anonymous.

See the attached poster for reward information.

Haha! This sounds like an Abbott and Costello short... Why would the clerk have let the idiot have the gun back? If I got a gun off someone that was trying to rob me; he'd have a helluva fight trying to get it back.
