Multiple Thefts from Vehicles Reported in Brookline

Crime update from Pittsburgh Police, Zone 6, Aug. 12 to Aug. 18.

Multiple thefts from vehicles were reported in Brookline in the past week:

  • A GPS unit was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 700 block of Fernhill Avenue in Brookline on Aug. 16 between 1 and 8 a.m.
  • A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 2300 block of Beaufort Avenue in Brookline between 10:30 p.m. on Aug. 14 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 15.
  • A GPS unit was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of Fernhill Avenue in Brookline between 11 p.m. on Aug. 14 and 10:40 a.m. on Aug. 15.
  • A license plate was stolen from a motorcycle parked in the 600 block of Brookline Boulevard on Aug. 17 between 11:30 a.m. and 6:46 p.m.

  • A man told police someone hit him with a baseball bat during a fight at a party in the 700 block of Dunster Street in Brookline on Aug. 17 at 2:30 a.m.

Theft

  • Gas cans, aluminum cans and four recycle bins were stolen from a home in the 200 block of London Towne Drive in Brookline on Aug. 15 between 7:30 and 11:40 p.m.
  • A woman told police someone cut down and took sunflower growing in the yard of her home in the 700 block of Woodbourne Avenue in Brookline on Aug. 14 between 1 and 8 a.m.

  • Brooke Evans of Pittsburgh was arrested for criminal trespass on Dawn Avenue in Beechview on Aug. 13.
  • Jacob Szymczak was arrested for theft and criminal trespass in the 1700 block of Eben Street in Brookline on Aug. 15.
  • Charles Friedel of Brookline was arrested for public drunkenness and resisting arrest in the 1000 block of Brookline Boulevard in Brookline on Aug. 15.
  • Thomas Sasser and William Sarrer of Brookline were arrested for burglarizing a vacant house in the 1100 block of Bellaire Avenue in Brookline on Aug. 18.
