Multiple Home Burglaries Reported in Brookline, Beechview

Money, jewelry and other items were reported stolen.

Multiple burglaries in Brookline and Beechview homes were reported to Pittsburgh Police during the first two weeks of September.

In addition, another 16 burglaries were reported during the same timeframe in other Zone 6 neighborhoods, including Sheraden, Elliot, East Carnegie, Westwood and Windgap.

The incidents in Brookline and Beechview are as reported:

  • Someone forced open the rear door of a home in the 2400 block of Bazore Street in Beechview and stole a safe containing money and winning lottery tickets. The incident occurred between 3 p.m. on Sept. 1 and 9:50 a.m. on Sept. 2.
  • Three juvenile black male actors reportedly forced open a side window and entered a home in the 1500 block of Rockland Avenue in Beechview on Sept. 2 at 5:35 a.m. The three were stopped by the homeowner, but ran from the scene with two cell phones, money and clothing.
  • Someone forced open the front door of a home in the 1500 block of Broadway Avenue in Beechview, set a futon on fire and then fled. The incident occurred on Sept. 3 just before 6:30 p.m.
  • Prescription medication was reported stolen from a home in the 1800 block of Seaton Street in Brookline The burglary occurred between 5:30 and 8:30 p.m. on Sept. 3.
  • Someone forced open the rear door of a home in the 1400 block of Methyl Street in Beechview on Sept. 7 between 7 and 11:55 a.m. and stole jewelry and a laptop.
  • Someone entered a home in the 1500 block of Beechview Avenue in Beechview  through a front window and stole electronics, jewelry, money and a safe from the home. The incident occurred between 4:45 p.m. on Sept. 13 and 2:09 a.m. on Sept. 14.
