Graffiti, Theft from Vehicles in Brookline

Brookline police blotter, July 23 to Aug. 6.

The following information was supplied by Pittsburgh Police, and is a report for crimes and arrests in Zone 6. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction. A map of the Zone 6 area can be found here.

Robbery

  • A woman told police she was robbed of her purse by two people she knew in the 2300 block of Beaufort Avenue in Brookline on July 27 around 10:15 a.m.
  • A man reported that he was assaulted and robbed by four unknown people. The suspects were described as two white males and two black males. The incident occurred near Bellaire Avenue and Wedgemere Street in Brookline on July 23 at 7 p.m.

Burglary

  • A vacant home in the 1600 block of Belasco Avenue in Beechview was broken into and a cabinet was stolen. The incident occurred between 4 p.m. on July 27 and noon on July 28.
  • A laptop was stolen from a home in the 1600 block of Suburban Avenue in Beechview between 9 a.m. on July 24 and 1 a.m. on July 25.

Theft

  • A bicycle was stolen from a home in the 1400 block of Orangewood Avenue in Brookline on July 25 between 7:45 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.
  • A resident in the 900 block of Norwich Avenue in Brookline noticed two juvenile neighbors acting suspicious on July 23 and called the police. An officer located two bikes and spoke to the juvenile's parent. The juvenile admitted to stealing the bikes and they were returned to the owners, who did not wish to pursue charges.
  • Prescription medication was stolen from a person in the 500 block of Clemesha Avenue in Brookline on July 23 between 2 and 6 p.m.

Theft from vehicle

  • A stereo was stolen from a vehicle parked in the 700 block of Brookline Boulevard between 10 p.m. on July 29 and 9:20 a.m. on July 30.
  • Clothing and money were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 2200 bloc of Old Oak Drive in Banksville on July 27 between midnight and 8 a.m.

Criminal Mischief

  • Graffiti was spray-painted onto a residence in the 1700 block of Broadway Avenue in Beechview between noon and 6 p.m. on July 26.
  • The window of a vehicle parked near Methyl Street and Sebring Avenue n Beechview was damaged on July 28 at 11:30 p.m.
  • The tires of a vehicle parked in the 800 block of Berwyn Avenue in Brookline were slashed betwwen 2:30 p.m. on July 24 and 1 p.m.on July 25.
  • A vehicle was scratched while it was parked in the 1900 bloc of Broadway Avenue in Beechview on July 27 around 4:30 p.m.

Arrests

  • Edward Eubanks of Beechview was arrested for possession of marijuana near Cape May and Hampshire Avenue in Beechview on July 28.
  • A woman was arrested for domestic violence in the 1500 block of Beechview Avenue in Beechview on July 24.
  • A man was arrested for domestic violence in the 800 block of Bay Ridge Avenue in Brookline on July 25.
  • Bernard Davis of Pittsburgh was arrested for burglary by Zone 6 Officers in the 3000 block of Pioneer Avenue in Brookline on July 28.
  • Matthew Hickey of Whitehall was arrested for possession of heroin and criminal trespass in the 400 block of Jillson Avenue in Brookline on July 25.
  • Maurice Ford of Beechview was arrested for carrying a firearm without a license in the 1600 block of West Liberty Avenue in Beechview on Aug. 4.
  • Susan Salmen of Carrick was arrested for a bench warrant in the 1500 block of Rockland Avenue in Beechview on Aug. 1.
  • Paula Sharkey of Beechview was arrested for possession of crack cocaine by Narcotics Detectives in the 800 block of Sebring Avenue in Beechview on Aug. 3.
  • Michael Lattner of Dormont was arrested on a bench warrant, and Donald Molovich of Lawrenceville was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia near Timberland and Edgebrook avenues in Brookline on Aug. 4.
  • Brian Kelly of Dormont was arrested for DUI in the 2600 block of West Liberty Avenue in Beechview on Aug. 4.
  • Anitra Miller of Whitehall was arrested for possession of marijuana and Paul Nickles of Arlington was arrested on a bench warrant in the 1400 block of Brookline Boulevard in Brookline on Aug. 6.
