Former Castle Shannon Priest Pleads Not Guilty

Bartley Sorensen is on home detention with electronic monitoring, WPXI reports.

Rev. Bartley Sorensen, 62, formerly of St. Anne Church in Castle Shannon, plead not guilty Friday and will go to trial on charges he possessed thousands of images of child pornography, according to a report by WPXI.

Sorensen is on home detention with electronic monitoring and is not allowed to use computers or cell phones with internet connection, according to the WPXI story.

Sorensen was arrested Dec. 10 after an employee at St. John Fisher Parish in Churchill, where he was working at the time, reported seeing Sorensen looking at child pornography at the church.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh has suspended Sorensen, WPXI reports.
