Fire at Auto Shop on West Liberty Ave.

Part of West Liberty Avenue in Beechview is closed while emergency crews respond.

Traffic is being re-routed on West Liberty Avenue in Beechview while crews respond to a fire at an auto detail store near Stetson Street.

The fire broke out in the Auto Paint Repair shop next to Car Quest Auto Parts around 10:30 a.m. Pittsburgh police and fire units responded.

Battalion Chief Frank Becker said the fire started in a car at the rear of the auto shop. He said about $50,000 of damage was done to the building. The fire is being investigated by the arson squad, he said.

West Liberty Avenue is closed between Curranhill Avenue and Brookside Avenue, and traffic is being re-routed through the side streets as of 11:20 a.m. Traffic is moving slowly on West Liberty Avenue in that area. Expect delays.
