Fingerprints on Glass, Beer Cans Led Police to Burglary Suspects

A burglary at Sam's Bar was solved after a woman allegedly admitted to breaking a window, then returning to the bar with a friend.

Fingerprints on broken glass and beer cans led Dormont police to two suspects in a May burglary at Sam’s Bar on West Liberty Avenue.

Lisa Forman, 43, and Luke McLuckie, 45, both of Dormont, were each charged with burglary and conspiracy in connection with the break in.

Officers first responded to Sam’s Bar at 6:36 a.m. on May 19, when they received an alert for burglar alarm activation. According to the report, officers saw a man inside the bar who left through a broken back window before police entered the building.

The bar owner told police that $100 was missing from the cash register. The scene was processed for fingerprints, including the window and beer cans left by the door.

Police said video surveillance from nearby businesses showed Forman running through the area, hiding broken glass in bushes at the back of Sam’s Bar and at one point, appearing to hide herself behind a van in the area.

Forman was arrested June 11 after police determined her fingerprints matched those found at the scene.

According to the police report, when officers questioned Forman she told them she had accidentally broken the window with her hand earlier in the evening.

Police said Forman then went to McLuckie’s apartment after leaving the bar and told him about the incident, and the two went back to the bar, where McLuckie allegedly broke more of the glass and went inside.

McLuckie was later arrested on a warrant.
