Eight Vehicles Damaged in Weekend Spree, No Arrests

Eight vehicles were damaged in a weekend vandalism spree through a Brookline neighborhood.

Three cars between the 1900 and 2300 blocks of Edgewood Avenue were damaged, as well as one vehicle parked at the corner of Freedom and Creedmore avenues, one in the 1500 block of Woodbourne Avenue, two in the 2400 block of Plainview Avenue and one in the 1100 block of Milan Avenue. Windows were smashed, side mirrors broken and other damage to the body of the vehicles occurred.

The vandalism occurred between the evening of April 13 and the morning of April 14. Similar incidents were reported in Dormont, Castle Shannon, Mt. Lebanon and Baldwin Township on the same evening. No arrests have been made.

Theft

  • A woman told police someone stole a purse she had left unattended in the 1000 block of Chelton Avenue in Brookline. The incident occurred April 14 at 1 p.m.
  • A juvenile male was stopped for retail theft at a store in the 700 block of Brookline Boulevard in Brookline on April 13 at 3:30 p.m.

Theft from vehicle

  • A GPS, radio, and game system were stolen from a locked vehicle while it was parked in the 1100 block of Banksville Road in Banksville. The incident occurred April 15 between 2 and 8:30 a.m.

Criminal Mischief

  • A man reported that someone he might know broke a window at his home in the 700 block of Eathan Avenue. The incident occurred April 11 between 7 and 10:45 p.m.

Arrests

  • A man was arrested the morning of April 10 for assaulting and robbing his girlfriend in the 1300 block of Methyl Street in Beechview after a night of drinking.
  • Kera Magidson of Mt Washington was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia near the intersection of Creedmore Avenue and Brookline Boulevard on April 12.
  • A man was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend during a domestic dispute in the 2300 block of Candace Street on April 11.
  • Kathy Ann Perrault of Dormont was arrested for DUI near the intersection of Banksville Road and Coast Avenue in Beechview on April 10.
  • Jill Kraszewski of Carrick was arrested for prostitution in the 2800 block of Banksville Road in Banksville on April 12.
