Police Search for Pizza Shop Robber

Dormont police continue to seek information in the Feb. 19 robbery of Little Caesars Pizza in Dormont.

continue the search for a man who robbed at gunpoint in February.

The robbery occurred Feb. 19 at the West Liberty Avenue store.

An employee told police she was standing in front of the store with another employee when a man walked into the store around 8:15 p.m. According to the police report, the man demanded money from both cash registers, and was given $150. He then fled in the direction of Mississippi Avenue.

Surveillance tapes at the store confirmed the employees’ reports.

“We were able to get a canine dog to attempt to track him,” said Dormont police Chief Phil Ross. “We tracked him for several blocks behind the store, but then the dog lost the scent.”

The suspect is a white man in his early 20s with brown eyes, about 5’6” tall and very thin. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, red hat and had a scarf over his face at the time of the incident.

The case is still under investigation, Ross said, and police are asking Dormont residents to call the police at 412-561-8900 x300 if they have information about the suspect.
