Description of Man Allegedly Breaking Into Dormont Cars

Witnesses gave Dormont police a description of a man who was allegedly seen breaking into cars in the borough.

Dormont police are searching for a man allegedly seen breaking into cars in the borough on Nov. 1.

Police received reports from witnesses who said a man was seen breaking into cars in the 1300 block of Illinois Avenue around 11:30 p.m. The man is described as a white male, about 5'10" with a thin build and a dark goatee.

Dormont police Sgt. Ralf Zawischa advised residents to keep their cars locked, and keep valuables out of sight.

Three juveniles have been charged with criminal mischief for damaging the concession stand at Beggs Snyder Park. On Oct. 27 at 5 p.m., Dormont police responded to a report that three juveniles had broken into the concession stand. All three were arrested and cited.
