Dormont Police Blotter Feb. 2-Feb. 10

The following information was supplied by Dormont Police. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Feb. 5

  • responded to a noise complaint in the 1300 block of Illinois Avenue at 1:50 p.m. Two men at the scene told police it was just a fight. Police warned them about noise. No arrests or citations were made.
  • Police responded to a noise complaint in the 1500 block of McFarland Road at 2:30 p.m. Three men at the residence told police they were yelling at the television while watching a hockey game. No arrests or citations were made.
  • Police are investigating a harassment report in which someone let the air out of one tire of car parked in the 3000 block of Eastmont Avenue and splashed yogurt on windshield. The report was made at 2:30 p.m.

Feb. 6

  • Police responded to bar fight at Alberts at 2056 Broadway Avenue at 12:45 a.m. Dormont police Chief Phil Ross said witnesses at the scene told police a man no one knew had hit another man and then left the bar. The man who was hit had injuries to his face and was taken to UPMC Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh. The first man has not been found.
  • A car on the T tracks on Park Boulevard was hit by a passing train at 11 p.m. Ross said the LRT tracks fall under the jurisdiction of the Port Authority police, who responded to the scene. Dormont police also responded to monitor the scene, but Ross said the matter was handled by Port Authority police. No injuries were reported.

Feb. 8

  • Three people were cited after police responded to a fight in the 1200 block of Arkansas Avenue at 9:20 a.m. Nancy Lori, 44 and Zachary Morton, 18 were charged with disorderly conduct. A 16-year-old who also was involved was also charged with disorderly conduct. Ross said when police arrived, one person involved in the disturbance was cleaning up furniture that had been thrown into the road. All three continued to fight after officers arrived on scene, Ross said. No other property was damaged.
  • Tim Jonczak, 31, of Wisconsin Avenue in Dormont, was cited for public drunkenness. Ross said officers on their way to another call saw Jonczak stumble off sidewalk and fall into the street at 9:15 p.m. in the 2900 block of West Liberty Avenue. Jonczak was taken to the police station and lodged until he was sober.

Feb. 9

  • A homeowner in the 2800 block of Voelkel Avenue reported that a grill had been stolen from the front porch of the home. The incident was reported at 11:20 p.m.
