Dormont Man Charged After Stealing Pills

A Dormont man was arrested after stolen prescription pills were found in his possession.

A Dormont man was arrested after police found him with stolen pills in a West Liberty Avenue apartment.

Police responded to the 2800 block of West Liberty Avenue at 11:44 a.m. June 29 for a woman's report that a man had assaulted her and stolen her purse, which contained two types of prescription medications. According to the police report, the woman identified the man as "Joseph," but did not know his last name.

Later that day, , as well as paramedics, were called to a home in the 1500 block of Tolma Avenue for a report of a 46-year-old man who was unconscious.

The man was identified as Joseph Drischler of Dormont, and police said the stolen medications were found in his possession. Drischler was taken to St. Clair hospital, but refused medical treatment.

Drischler was charged with robbery and simple assault.
