Daytime Burglaries Reported Throughout Brookline, Beechview

Just a few days after Dormont Police warned of recent burglaries in the borough, Pittsburgh Police released reports of similar incidents happening through Brookline, Beechview and Banksville.

Four burglaries, most happening during the day, were reported between May 30 and May 31:

  • Someone forced open a rear window and ransacked an apartment in the 1600 block of Broadway Avenue in Beechview between 11:15 p.m. on May 31 and 3 a.m. on June 1.
  • An attempted burglary was reported in the 1600 block of Creedmore Avenue on May 30 between 7:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. The victim told police it appeared that someone tried to force open the front and back doors of the residence.
  • Someone broke into a home in the 2400 block of Plainview Avenue in Brookline on May 30 between noon and 3 p.m. The victim told police it looked like the person had been looking for valuables on the second floor, but nothing appeared to be stolen.
  • A woman told police someone broke into her home in the 2200 block of Hayson Avenue in Banksville on May 30 between 8:35 a.m. and 4:18 p.m. The burglar entered the home by forcing open a side window, then ransacked a bedroom, pried open a safe and stole a coin collection, according to the report.
