Community Bank on Brookline Boulevard Robbed

The Community Bank branch on Brookline Boulevard was robbed Wednesday afternoon.

Pittsburgh police are investigating a robbery at the Brookline Boulevard branch of Community Bank Wednesday afternoon.

Police responded to the bank just after noon for a hold-up alarm. A bank employee told officers that a man came into the bank and went to the teller window, then handed the teller a note that said “Be quiet and hand me everything in your drawer … I have a gun.” The teller gave the man an undisclosed amount.

The suspect is dscribed as a white man, 5’10”, wearing glasses, with facial hair (beard). He was wearing a red baseball cap, gray T-shirt with camo sleeves and blue jeans. He was last seen running across Brookline Boulevard, cutting between two houses and out of view.

Witnesses reported that the man took the money in both hands and fled the bank on foot. His shirt was found a short distance away from the bank. Tire tracks were found between the two houses where the actor fled.

The Pittsburgh Police Robbery Squad is conducting this investigation. Anyone with information  is asked to call the Robbery Squad at 412-323-7151. Callers can remain anonymous.

Editor's note: The same branch was robbed in December. Brothers-in-law Terrell Gorman and Michael Laughlin, both of Brookline, were charged with robbery in connection to that incident.
