Cars Stolen in Brookline, Beechview

Brookline police blotter, Aug. 6 to Aug. 12.

Three vehicles were stolen between Aug. 6 and Aug. 9 from locations in Brookline and Beechview.

The first vehicle reported stolen was parked near Pauline Street and Crosby Avenue in Beechview when it was stolen without the keys, sometime between 6 a.m. on Aug. 6 and 6 a.m. on Aug. 8. Another was stolen without the keys on Aug. 8, sometime between 11:15 a.m. and about 11:50 p.m., from its parking spot in the 1000 block of Chelton Avenue.

On Aug. 9 another vehicle was reported stolen—again, without the keys—from its parking space in the 2200 block of Broadway Avenue in Beechview. The car was stolen between 10:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Rape

  • A juvenile female reported that she was raped by a group of black males while attending a party at an unknown address in Beechview on Aug. 7. Sex assault detectives are investigating the incident.

Robbery

  • A man was reportedly robbed while walking in the 1600 block of Broadway Avenue in Beechview on Aug. 9 around 10 p.m. The victim told police he was approached by three men. One man assaulted him and knocked him to the ground. While he was on the ground, he was robbed of his wallet, and the men threatened to kill him. The men ran from the scene in an unknown direction. The three suspects were described as black men wearing white t-shirts and dark colored gym shorts. One suspect was armed with a gun. Zone Six detectives are investigating the incident.

Burglary

  • A man told police someone entered his home in the 600 block of Wenzell Avenue in Beechview through an unlocked front door and stole money from a wallet. The incident was reported Aug. 7 at 11:50 a.m.

Theft

  • A bicycle was stolen from the porch of a home in the 1500 block of Beechview Avenue in Beechview on Aug. 8 between 5:30 and 7:30 a.m.
  • Prescription medication was stolen from a home in the 700 block of Brookline Boulevard in Brookline on Aug. 7 at 8:45 p.m.

Theft from Vehicle

  • A stereo was stolen from a car parked in the 1800 block of Pioneer Avenue in Brookline on Aug. 7 between 5:30 and 7:54 p.m.
  • The tires were stolen from a vehicle parked in the 1600 block of West Liberty Avenue in Brookline between 7:45 p.m. on Aug. 11 and 1:30 p.m. on Aug. 12.
  • A wallet was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 800 block of Fordham Street in Brookline between 11 p.m. on Aug. 7 and 6 a.m. on Aug. 8.
  • A GPS unit and a key were stolen from an unlocked car parked in the 1800 block of West Liberty Avenue in Beechview between 11 p.m. on Aug. 11 and 8 a.m. on Aug. 12.

Criminal Mischief

  • A woman reported that a white male slashed the tires of her vehicle and ran from the scene on Aug. 8 at 11:24 p.m. The vehicle was parked in the 1500 block of Chelton Avenue in Brookline.

Arrests

  • John Nicotra, of McKees Rocks, was arrested of possession of marijuana near West Liberty and Belle Isle avenues on Aug. 7.
  • Andrew Ault, of Mount Washington, was arrested for DUI in the 400 block of Brookline Boulevard on Aug. 12.
  • Tina Houston, of Cleveland, Ohio, was arrested for prostitution by vice detectives in the 1100 block of Banksville Road on Aug. 10.
