UPDATE: Car Stuck on T Tracks Sunday Night

No injuries were reported in an accident in which a car got stuck on the Potomac tracks.

No injuries and no major damage was reported when a vehicle became stuck on the T tracks in Dormont on Sunday night.

Heather Pharo, a spokeswoman for the Pittsburgh Port Authority, said the vehicle became stuck on the outbound side of the tracks near Potomac Avenue around 11:20 p.m. The Port Authority police were dispatched to the scene, and the vehicle was cleared around 11:40 p.m.

Pharo said the incident had minimal impact on travel during that time period.

"We had the T do single-tracking around it while auto was stuck on the rail," she said. "The impact is fairly minimal at that time of night, especially on a Sunday."

Pharo said the Port Authority has no official information about how the vehicle got onto the tracks, but a witness at the scene told Dormont-Brookline Patch it appeared as though someone trying to turn onto the main road became stuck.
