Car Reported Stolen from Arkansas Ave.

Dormont police blotter, Dec. 7 to Dec. 14.

A car was reported stolen from the 1200 block of Arkansas Avenue after it was left running outside of a home, Dormont police said.

According to the police report, the owner jump-started the car shortly after 9 p.m. because it would not start on its own. The owner then went inside the home, leaving the car running outside, and noticed the car missing around 9:25 p.m.

The car is a 1999 gold-colored Ford Taurus. Those with information can contact Dormont police at 412-473-3056.

  • A 17-year-old woman came to the Dormont police station and told police she was assaulted the night before. The woman told police she was walking on Glenmore Avenue behind Eat’n’Park at 12:40 a.m. Dec. 7 when a girl she knew pulled her into an alleyway and beat her. According to the report, five males also were at the scene and watched the assault. The woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment following the assault. The accused attacker, who also is an underage female, was charged with simple assault.
  • Officer on patrol saw a fight break out in a crowd of people in front of Vasta on West Liberty Avenue 2:20 a.m. According to the report, police told the crowd a number of times to break up and leave the area, but two people continued fighting with each other and a third man continuing arguing with police. Glenda Boxly, 22, of Mt. Oliver, and Shandrew Vaughn, 34, of Brookline, were arrested and issued disorderly conduct citations. Charles Womack, 34, of Penn Hills, was charged with resisting arrest, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct.

Dec. 9

  • A woman came to the Dormont police station just after 5 p.m. and told police that the evening before, she noticed several items missing from a jewelry box in her home in the 3000 block of Windmere Avenue. The woman was able to provide information about a possible suspect, and police are investigating the case as a burglary.

Dec. 14

  • Hebah Elmasri, 22, of Dormont was charged with theft of services. According to the police report, a waitress at Tom’s Diner on West Liberty Avenue told police Elmasri left the restaurant around 2:45 a.m. without paying her bill.
  • Police are investigating an act of apparent vandalism in which all four tires of a car parked on Pioneer Avenue were slashed. The incident was reported around 6:50 a.m., call came in this morning at 6:50 a.m.
