Burglar Runs When Confronted by Homeowner

Brookline Police Blotter, July 10 to July 15.

Pittsburgh police are looking for a man who broke into a Brookline home, but ran when he was confronted by the homeowner.

A man told police that just before noon on July 11, the suspect forced open a rear window of his home in the 400 block of Jillson Avenue and came inside. The man then confronted the suspect, who ran from the scene.

The suspect is described as a man between the ages of 22 and 26, who is about 5’9”, 170 pounds, with a medium build. He was wearing a white t-shirt at the time of the incident. The suspect’s race is unknown.

Theft

  • A cell phone was stolen in the 700 block of Brookline Boulevard in Brookline around 1:30 p.m. July 12.
  • Two potted plants were stolen and two more were damaged at a home in the 300 block of Aidyl Avenue in Brookline. The incident occurred July 13 between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Stolen Vehicle

  • A motorcycle parked in the 700 block of Dunster Street in Brookline on July 14 was stolen without the keys between midnight and 5:30 a.m.

Criminal Mischief

  • A vehicle parked in the 1500 block of Beechview Avenue in Beechview was damaged. The incident was reported July 10 around 11 p.m.
  • A woman told police her vehicle was damaged after a road rage incident in Beechview, near Banksville Road and Crane Avenue. The incident occurred July 15 at 2:45 p.m.
  • A vehicle parked in the 700 block of Brookline Boulevard in Brookline was damaged during a fight on July 15 around 2:45 a.m.
  • A vehicle parked in the 2400 block of Alwyn Street was damaged between 9 p.m. July 13 and 3:45 a.m. on July 14.

Arrests

  • Trinity Ricker, of Washington state, was arrested by vice detectives for prostitution in the 1100 block of Banksville Road in Banksville on July 11.
