Burglar Forces Open Front Doors in Recent Daytime Burglaries

Several burglaries or attempted burglaries were reported in Brookline and Beechview in the first part of June.

The burglar or burglars in several recent cases reportedly forced open the front doors of homes to gain entrance, and four recent cases happened during the day.

Three cases were reported in Brookline and one in Beechview were reported to Pittsburgh Police between June 4 and June 13:

  • A woman told police she was sleeping in her Glenarm Avenue home in Brookline on June 4 at 10:13 a.m. when a person she didn’t know came into her home. According to the police report, the person left when the woman woke up.
  • Jewelry and electronics were stolen from a home in the 1300 block of Lettie Hill Street in Beechview on June 6 between 10:30 a.m. and 10 p.m. The burglar entered the home by forcing open the front door.
  • Someone forced open the front door of a home in the 1300 block of Creedmore Avenue in Brookline on June 10 between 5:45 a.m. and 2:45 p.m. At the time of the report, it was not known if anything was stolen from the home.
  • A man told police someone tried to force open the front door of his home in the 1900 block of Capital Avenue in Brookline on June 13 just after 5 p.m.
