Brookline Police Blotter March 5—March 11

The following information was supplied by Pittsburgh Police. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Burglary

  • Police are investigating a burglary in Banksville that occurred after the intruder knocked the homeowner unconscious. A woman told police that someone entered her Elm Spring Court home through an unlocked patio door and struck her in the head, knocking her unconscious. When she woke up, she found that money was missing from her purse, and the person had left the home. The incident occurred March 5 around 11 p.m. A description of the suspect was not immediately available.

Theft

  • A man reported that someone he knew stole his wallet and moneyy. The matter was referred to the magistrate. The incident occurred March 9 at 8 a.m. in the 900 block of Brookline Boulevard in Brookline.
  • A woman reported that someone she knew stole her cell phone. The matter was referred to the magistrate. The incident occurred March 6 at 11 p.m. in the 3100 block of Banksville Road in Banksville.
  • An employee reported that someone he knew stole items from a store in the 3100 block of Banksville Road and fled.  The incident occurred March 7 at 4:40 p.m.

Theft from Vehicle

  • Money was reportedly stolen from a vehicle parked in the 800 block of Mayville Avenue in Brookline. The incident occurred between 8 p.m. on March 10 and 5 a.m. on March 11.

Criminal Mischief

  • A man reported that someone flipped his car onto its roof while it was parked in the area of Edgebrook and Milan avenues in Brookline. The incident occurred March 7 between 2:30 and 2:50 a.m.
  • A woman told police that someone smashed the windshield of her vehicle while it was parked in the 2300 block of Candace Street in Beechview. The incident occurred between 11 p.m. on March 7 and 7 a.m. on March 8.
  • A man told police that someone scratched obscene language onto his vehicle while it was parked in the 2200 block of Boustead Street in Beechview. The incident occurred between 10:30 p.m. on March 10 and 11:45 a.m. on March 11.

  • Neil Smith of Beechview was arrested for possession of marijuana in the 1100 block of Tropical Avenue in Beechview on March 10 around 6 p.m.
  • Adam Kress of Brookline was arrested for possession of marijuana in the 500 block of Brookline Boulevard in Brookline on March 7 at 5:40 p.m.
  • Jason McDonald of Michigan, as well as Jonathan Loving and Tiffany Loving, both of Tennessee, were arrested for prostitution by vice detectives in the 2800 block of Banksville Road in Banksville on March 6 at 8 p.m.
