Brookline Police Blotter Feb. 8 to Feb. 14

The following information was supplied by Pittsburgh Police. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Robbery

  • A man reported that a possible known woman and an unknown man entered his Eathan Avenue home in Brookline. He did not know how they got inside. Once inside, the man jumped on top of a sleeping victim and held him down while the woman stole various things, including a wallet and cell phone before fleeing. The incident happened between 9 p.m. on Feb. 7 and 2:20 a.m. on Feb. 8.
  • A man reported that someone grabbed him from behind while he was washing his car in the 1500 block of Noblestown Road in Westwood. The man forced the victim to his car and they struggled over his wallet. The man got the wallet and fled the location in a silver Chevy Caprice. The suspect is described as a black man in his 30s, with a full beard, dark complexion and stocky build. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt and black tassel cap. The incident occurred Feb. 9 around 4 p.m.
  • A man reported that someone entered the store at 1600 Saw Mill Run Blvd. in Brookline and pointed a gun at him. The man demanded money from the victim. The victim complied and the actor fled. The suspect is described as a white man in his 50s, with gray hair and a scruffy beard. He was wearing a blue hoodie and blue jeans. The incident occurred Feb. 7 at 10:43 p.m.

Theft

  • A man reported that someone stole a cell phone he had left unattended on West Liberty Avenue in Beechview. The incident occurred Feb. 11 between 1 a.m. and 2:30 a.m.
  • It was reported that someone stole a license plate from a vehicle parked in the 2600 block of West Liberty Avenue in Beechview between 5 p.m. on Feb. 8 and 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 9.
  • A woman reported that people she might know stole her wallet from her West Liberty Avenue home in Beechview between 10:30 p.m. on Feb. 11 and 10 a.m. on Feb. 12.

Criminal Mischief

  • A woman reported that someone damaged the rear door of her Saranac Avenue home in Beechview while attempting to break in. The incident occurred between 12:30 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Feb. 11.

Arrests

  • Monique Hemmo and John Kurtz, both of Upper St. Clair, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance on West Liberty Avenue in Brookline on Feb. 11.
  • Paul Schuetz of Brookline was arrested for DUI on Brookline Boulevard on Feb. 8.
  • Joshua Thompson, of Washington, PA, was arrested for public drunkenness at Whited Street and Saw Mill Run Boulevard in Brookline on Feb. 11.
