Brookline Police Blotter Feb. 20-Feb. 26

The following information was supplied by Pittsburgh Police. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Robbery

  • A woman reported that her boyfriend assaulted her and stole her cell phone during a domestic dispute in the 1500 block of Beechview Avenue in Beechview. The incident was reported Feb. 25 at 6:45 p.m.
  • The victim reported someone entered a business at 1700 Banksville Road, pointed a handgun at the clerk and demanded money. The person took money and fled. The suspect is described as a white male, between 26 and 28 years old, 5-foot-8, 180 pounds, and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black coat, black gloves and black baseball cap. The incident occurred Feb. 26 at 9:40 a.m.

Theft

  • A man reported that someone stole his phone, which he had left unattended. The incident occurred in the 1500 block of West Liberty Avenue in Brookline on Feb. 22, between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Stolen Vehicle

  • A man reported that someone he knew stole his vehicle with the keys from the 1100 block of Shadycrest Drive in Beechview. The incident occurred Feb. 26 between 7 and 8 a.m.

Arrests

  • Jason Murray of Beechview was arrested for possession of a controlled substance at Fallowfield and Sebring avenues in Beechview on Feb. 23.
  • Nicholas Balaban of Beechview was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia at West Liberty and Cape May avenues in Beechview on Feb. 22.
  • Shawn Magulic of Finleyville and Evi Stengen of Bethel Park were arrested for possession of heroin in the 2400 block of West Liberty Avenue in Beechview on Feb. 21.
  • Cecelia Shields and Anavonetta McCollough of Las Vegas were arrested for prostitution by vice detectives in the 1100 block of Banksville Road in Banksville on Feb. 23.
  • Brian Gestrich of Dormont was arrested for disorderly conduct and public drunkenness in the 1600 block of Saw Mill Run Boulevard in Brookline on Feb. 21.
