Arrests, Criminal Mischief in Brookline Blotter

Brookline, Beechview police blotter, Oct. 1 to Oct. 7.

Below is a list of offenses and arrests that occurred in Brookline and Beechview in the first week of October.

Burglary

  • A woman told police someone broke into her home in the 2100 block of Whited Street on Oct. 1 between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. Nothing appeared to have been stolen at the time of the report.

Theft

  • Ladders were stolen from the yard of a home in the 1200 block of Shadycrest Drive in Beechview between 9 p.m. on Oct. 1 and 3:30 p.m. on Oct. 2.

Criminal Mischief

  • A man told police that the garage door of his home in the 800 block of Fordham Street was damaged when a group of men attempted to force it open on Oct. 6 between 12:18 and 2 a.m.

Arrests

  • Yamir Nelson of East Liberty was arrested for possession of marijuana near Belle Idle and West Liberty avenues in Brookline on Oct. 2.
  • Todd Wright of Mount Washington was arrested for giving false identification to police officers, driving with a suspended license and various other driving offenses. The arrest occurred near the intersection of Berkshire and Pioneer avenues in Brookline on Oct. 1.
  • Robert Schmitt of Pittsburgh was arrested for possession of heroin and another controlled substance near the intersection of Berkshire and Pioneer avenues in Brookline on Oct. 5.
