Is the Brookline Boulevard construction an improvement?

Before all of this construction began, I was still living in Beechview and would travel along the Boulevard probably once a week. My main gripe before used to be how people would back out of the parking spots right in front of you. I now live in Brookline and have to travel it on a daily basis. So far it's worse than ever driving on this road.

It seems that problem would have solved with the white line that was painted to allow people to back out safely. Unfortunately, people think that that area behind the parked cars is reserved for them to park wherever they feel like it and simply put their four-way flashers on. Others think it's a passing lane and some think it's a turning lane.

I'm very anxious to see the the finished project, with the lines painted on the road and traffic lights in their final positions. I'm glad there is finally a left turn lane when going from the Boulevard to Pioneer, but there better be one in both directions! now that there is only one lane of travel in the one direction, it really clogs everything up when there is a car trying to turn left since there currently is not a green arrow and turning lane! why not?!
this project is scheduled to be done on November 4th....  I don't see how that will be possible, but I sure hope they can repave the road before all of the potholes totally destroy my car.
The traffic lights desperately need better timing. coming home from work around 4:30-5:00 I get every red light.

Oh and what's with the extremely short green arrow when turning off West Liberty onto the Boulevard??
