'Hero' Pup Finds Permanent Home in Brookline

A dog who saved the life of a Cranberry man earlier this year has been adopted by a Brookline family.

It was hard for Chuck Weintraub to give up the dog who saved his life, but he's confident the Brookline family that adopted the pup will take good care of her, the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review reports.

Weintraub was serving as a foster owner for Chloe, a 1-year-old Pit Bull mix, in July, after her previous owners surrendered her to the Humane Society. When Weintraub collapsed in the yard of his Cranberry home that month, Chloe drew the attention of neighbors who called for help.

Weintraub told the Tribune-Review he felt "anguish" at giving up his life-saving pup, but knew that giving her to a good home would allow him to take in and help other dogs.

Chloe now lives with the Rauenswinter family in Brookline, who told the Tribune-Review the dog is their "angel."
