Battle of the Bands

The Dormont Recreation Committee is sponsoring an event called the Battle of the Bands. Enter your band for a chance to win a spot performing at 2013 Dormont Street Fair on October 12.

Rock N Roll, Hip Hop, Jazz and Country.  If you have a band, we want to hear from you.  The Dormont Recreation Department in association with The Hollywood Theater, Lou Petosi of Silent Partners and Diversity on West Liberty Ave. are working together to sponsor a BATTLE OF THE BANDS event.

The event will take place on Sunday May 19 from 2 PM to 6 PM at the Hollywood Theater on Potomac Ave. in Dormont.  There is no fee to the bands to participate but guests will be changed $ 10 to attend and all proceeds will benefit the Hollywood Theater.  You can buy tickets on line in advance at http://www.showclix.com/event/HollywoodBattleoftheBands

The winning band will receive a VISA Gift Card and will open the show at the 2013 Dormont Street Fair on October 12.

If you are interested in performing, please contact Kristin Hullihen, Dormont Recreation Director, at 412-561-8900 ext. 227 or through e-mail at khullihen@boro.dormont.pa.us to obtain an entry form and instructions on how to submit a video of your band performing.  The deadline to enter your band is May 1, 2013. 

Members of the Dormont Recreation Committee will review the videos and select and schedule those bands to perform.

Lou Petosi of Silent Partners will provide the lighting and Diversity will provide the sound system so all you need to do is come set up your band and start jamming. 

So come show off your skills and play in front of friends and family at the beautiful Hollywood Theater.  Who knows where this opportunity may lead?
