From Your Patch Editor: Thank You, Readers

Of all the articles I’ve written for Patch, this one is the most difficult.

Tuesday, Oct. 15, will be my last day as the Dormont-Brookline Patch editor. Patch is reorganizing, and the company’s plan no longer includes having local editors oversee the Pittsburgh Patch sites.

I joined Patch nearly two years ago, and I have enjoyed every minute I have spent interacting with the communities I’ve covered. Meeting all of you, hearing your experiences, writing your stories, and reading your contributions on Patch has been wonderful. Thank you for welcoming me into your communities.

I truly appreciate your readership. I strongly believe in the importance of local news, and my only regret is that I am no longer able to provide that for you in this format.

This job has allowed me to meet some terrific people and cover some amazing stories. Dormont, Brookline and neighboring Beechview truly are the hidden gems of South Pittsburgh.

Although I will no longer oversee the website, Dormont-Brookline Patch is not going away.

Patch is reviewing alternatives for some of its websites, including this one, so rest assured you will still be able to use Patch to post your blogs, events and announcements.

I won’t be a stranger to the local shops and restaurants that have become my favorites—I hope to see you around town!
