We're celebrating the 75th anniversary of the original broadcast of Mercury Theater's classic end-of-the-world radio play, War of the Worlds -- with a Pittsburgh spin.
War of the Worlds was written by H.G. Wells and adapted for radio by Howard W. Koch.
It was broadcast on October 30, 1938 on CBS Radio, creating widespread panic among listeners, many of whom actually believed the US was under attack by martian invaders.
