Winter Weather Advisory: More Snow on the Way

The snow is expected to arrive late Friday night; borough still working to clear parking spots, sidewalks from Wednesday's storm.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has issued a winter weather advisory for a wide portion of western Pennsylvania from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The storm is expected to drop 2 to 4 inches of snow by the end of the day Saturday.

  • Friday night: Light snow likely, mainly after 4am. Cloudy, with a low around 26. East wind around 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
  • Saturday: Light snow, mainly before 3pm. High near 33. Calm wind becoming west 5 to 9 mph in the afternoon. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 3 inches possible.
  • Saturday Night: A chance of snow showers. Cloudy, with a low around

Dormont Borough Manager Jeff Naftal said public works crews are still working to clear sidewalks and borough parking lot spaces.

"We've had priorities out on the street," he said.

Unfortunately, he said, crews cannot clear snow from spaces where cars are parked. He said the snow predicted for Saturday is supposed to be a wet snow, which crews should be able to tackle without much difficulty.
