UPDATE: Westbound Fort Pitt Tunnel Will Close Tuesday Night

Road crews will be paving Parkway West near the tunnel exit and vehicles will be detoured.

The outbound (westbound) Fort Pitt Tunnel on the Parkway West in Pittsburgh that was to be closed Monday night will be closed instead on Tuesday night, weather permitting.

PennDOT District 11 maintenance crews will be milling and paving the outbound Parkway West near the tunnel exit and garage. The closure will occur from 9 p.m. Tuesday through 4 a.m. Wednesday.

Signs will be posted to guide motorists onto westbound Carson Street (Exit 69C) to the West End to southbound Route 51 (Saw Mill Run Boulevard) back to the outbound Parkway West.

Note: The rain date for the work is Wednesday night, Sept. 21.

Motorists are advised to use caution and allow extra time when traveling through the area. Log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions and cameras on major roadways before traveling.
