Recipe of the Week: Aunt Vanessa's Famous Pepperoni Dip

Looking for an easy appetizer to take to the next family picnic? Look no further. Even this editor could prepare this dish.

O.K. In the case of full disclosure, it isn't my Aunt Vanessa's dip—it's my boyfriend's.

When I asked him for an easy recipe for an upcoming family event, he walked out of the room only to return with his family's recipe book, open to a page featuring his aunt's famous pepperoni dip.

And thankfully for me—as a woman with limited, to, well, no culinary skills—it's something that looks as easy as it sounds tasty.

Here's what you need:

1 - 8-ounce container of cream cheese (light cream cheese if you really insist)

1 - 12-ounce can of cream of chicken soup

1/2 pound pepperoni, finely chopped.

Here's what you do:

Mix all the ingredients into a small crock pot and heat for four hours, stirring occasionally.

Then? Just serve it up with crackers, bread, pita pieces or vegetables.
