UPDATE—Poll: Should Smoking Be Allowed at Dormont Pool?

At a Council meeting earlier this month, a resident raised concerns about smoking at .

The resident told council it didn't seem like the designated smoking areas were being enforced very well, and that cigarette smoke, as well as cigarette butts on the ground, were a concern with children at the pool.

However, while acknowledging that smoking has taken place at the pool,  Dormont Manager Jeff Naftal said that should not have happened because of an Allegheny County law that prohibits smoking in public places.

"It never has been permitted," he said.
