Patch Pets: Meet Lucille

This beautiful dog is in need of a new home.

Lucille first arrived at our shelter last year. For whatever reason, this sweetheart was passed over and after a bit she was placed in a foster home where she could enjoy a quieter environment and some TLC.

Here's what her foster mom had to say:

"Maybe this sweet and chubby six-year-old little Jack Russell mix is just waiting for the right person to come along. That's the only explanation as to why she hasn't been adopted yet. Lucille's whole body wiggles with excitement when she sees you. She is very comfortable in her crate but can't wait to greet you with kisses when it is time to come out. Lucille dances for joy when it is time for her walk.

She enjoys taking time to sniff, but get her going and those little legs can really move! After her walk, this little cuddlebug is content to snuggle up next to you. She loves to roll around on her back and to crawl under the couch, popping her head out when you call to her. Lucille's amazing personality didn't shine at the shelter, but in her foster home, she has proved to be a lovable and affectionate companion.

Lucille was adopted around nine months ago but was recently returned because one of the owners was not comfortable around dogs. They did consider her to be house-trained, great on a leash and friendly toward the people she met. Lucille doesn't seem to like other dogs or cats, so she does need to be an only pet. While Lucille did live with kids in her last home, we feel that very young children would not be a good fit for her. An adult home or a home with older kids would be best."
